The key reason why the six-party talks have not made substantial progress is that the United States remains unchanged in its hostile policy toward the DPRK, blocking the settlement of the nuclear issue.

It is our position that the six-way talks cannot be resumed amid challenging U.S. sanctions.

The United States should, first of all, lift its sanctions against the DPRK, the main factor in scuttling the talks, before suggesting their resumption. The prospect of their continuing entirely depends on the U.S. behavior.

The U.S. should face up to the reality with a cool head and stop at once such criminal moves to throw obstacles to the efforts for peace and security on the Korean Peninsula.

Any concession in the acute standoff with the US imperialists invites a ruin. A concession will result in a hundred concessions and finally invite death and national ruin.

The women should give birth to many children and rear them to be dependable men and women.

Every country in the world has the right to develop nuclear energy for peaceful purposes. Why does the United States insist that only we should give up that right? This is total nonsense. Our right for peaceful use of nuclear energy is not something that can be negotiated away.

While under U.S. sanctions, it?s impossible to sit face-to-face and discuss abandoning our nuclear deterrent.

The prospect of the resumption of the talks entirely depends on the U.S. behavior.

We have built our nuclear energy facilities over the past decades by tightening our people's belts. The facilities are built with our people's blood and sweat. It is unimaginable for us to succumb to outside pressure and give up our independent nuclear power industry without an alternative that will compensate us with nuclear energy.
